Stevie Ipsen

Director of Public Relations and Outreach Stevie Ipsen

Stevie Ipsen began her job as Director of Public Relations and Outreach at the California Cattlemen’s Association in January 2008. With most of her experience in print journalism, Stevie is the first point of contact for all media inquiries. Stevie is also the editor for the California Cattleman, the Hot Irons newsletter and the Legislative Bulletin. In addition, Stevie is also the state coordinator for California’s Beef Quality Assurance Program.

Raised in and around the livestock industry of central Utah, Stevie relocated to California after completing her education at Utah State University. With bachelor’s degrees in both bioveterinary science and agriculture communications, Stevie says she fits her position well because of her ability to communicate her love and knowledge of agriculture to those who already understand the science, as well as those who are just discovering it.

Stevie’s husband, Logan is a regional manager for the American Angus Association, guiding Angus operations and sales in California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah. They currently reside in Elk Grove.

Stevie said she wanted to work for CCA because it allows her to give back to an industry that has given her a greater appreciation of not only where food and fiber come from, but an appreciation for those who produce it.

“Agriculture and cattle don’t get any better than they do in California,” Stevie said. “I can’t think of many places I would rather be, or an industry I would rather promote.”
