The California Cattlemen's Association is excited to announce that this year’s National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Spring Conference is scheduled for March 31 to April 3 in Washington, D.C. This event is an excellent opportunity for CCA members to emphasize the policy priorities of California’s beef industry for the future with members of California’s Congressional Congress delegation as well as key agency officials.

Again this year, CCA is strongly encouraging local associations to send one of their members to Spring Conference, along them to participate in CCA and NCBA lobbying efforts. As hotel rates in Washington, D.C., have risen considerably in recent years, the total cost of participation is the area of $1,500 to $2,000 per person
. To secure a hotel room, call (202) 638-1616 and make your reservation as soon as possible. The host hotel is the Liaison Capitol Hill (formerly the Holiday Inn on the Hill). Airfare arrangements should also be made soon. The bulk of the meetings are on Wednesday and Thursday of the trip. Therefore arrival is best on Tuesday with departing flights leaving Friday or Saturday. Those interested in participating in meetings with the Public Lands Council should plan to be in Washington, D.C., by Sunday evening, March 20. Those interested in participating in meetings with the California Rangeland Conservation Coalition should plan to arrive by Monday evening, March 31.

Confirm your attendance with the CCA office, as a current participant list is important when scheduling meetings with members of Congress and their staff. Prior to Spring Conference, CCA will also prepare and distribute to participants a more detailed schedule, showing each attendee’s individual appointments and meetings
We look forward to having a strong delegation of CCA members at our nation’s capitol. Please do not hesitate to contact Matt Byrne or Tracy Schohr in the CCA office at (916) 444-0845 should you have any questions about participation in this exciting and important event or if you would like assistance in finding a roommate to share hotel costs.
