The primary mission of CCA is to represent California ranchers and beef producers in local, state and federal government affairs. CCA fulfills this mission with a fulltime presence at the California State Capitol in Sacramento and maintains a close working relationship with California’s Congressional delegation in Washington, D.C. CCA’s lobbyists work exclusively on issues affecting our state’s cattle industry and are a strong voice for California ranchers in legislative and regulatory affairs.

Policies that guide our lobbying efforts are under the direct control of the CCA membership. CCA members meet at least twice a year to discuss and develop policies on issues impacting the industry in order to provide clear direction for association staff. All CCA members are encouraged to take part in this process to ensure CCA’s policy positions represent the breadth and diversity of California’s cattle industry. CCA is truly a grassroots organization and brings the voices of cattlemen and women throughout the state to the halls of the Capitol in Sacramento.
