Treasurer Myron Openshaw
Myron Openshaw of Oroville, has given many of his years to cattlemen’s assocations and committees throughout the country. Though currently serving the California Cattlemen’s Association as treasurer, Myron is also a past CCA president.
After more than 50 years on the family-owned ranch in Butte County, Myron said it is his love of cattle and ranchers that keeps him involved. Myron and his wife Sharon have passed their love of the land onto their two children and five grandchildren, whom Myron said have gained a great work ethic because of the way they were raised.
Having worked in the industry as a producer and in the meat and processing markets, Myron said he brings his various experiences and a willingness to speak on the behalf of the cattle industry.
In addition to CCA offices, Myron has also served as chair of the National Cattlemen’s Cow-Calf Council, as chair of the National Cattlemen’s Ag Policy Committee. Myron said he tries to always make a positive impact on his industry as well as his community. He has also served as chair of his local school board in Oroville.
He said, “I enjoy working with and being around cattle ranchers and giving my time and energy to an industry that I love.”
