CCA Treasurer Jack Hanson

Jack Hanson, of Willow Creek Ranch, in the Willow Creek Valley of Lassen County, was elected to a six-year term as treasurer of CCA at the annual convention in Sparks, Nev., Hanson, a cow-calf producer, has spent more than three decades as a proactive producer in Lassen County, overseeing his family’s cattle and hay operation.

“I have a great love for this way of life and have a vested interest in the beef industry, so I enjoy nothing more than seeing the industry and the people that are part of it thrive,” Hanson said. “I am honored to give anything I can to the organization and share the love that I have for it with other producers throughout the state.”

CCA President Tom Talbot, DVM, Bishop, said he is very optimistic about what the new officer team will accomplish for CCA. Talbot said because of Hanson’s professional work experience, his knowledge of the ranching industry and his past leadership for CCA, Hanson will be a perfect fit to manage the funds for the statewide cattle organization.

“Jack (Hanson) has a broad knowledge of the issues facing producers in California, particularly the financial issues we are all facing,” Talbot said. “As a past CCA officer, he has all the right tools to benefit CCA members in the coming years.”

Hanson graduated from University of California, Berkeley, with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He is a past second vice president of CCA, is the current Chair of the National Livestock Marketing Association and is a member of the Lassen County Board of Supervisors. Hanson and his wife, Darcy, live in Susanville and have two sons, Wyatt and Brad.
