Second Vice President Jack Cowley
A cattle producer since 1972, Jack Cowley, of Montague, serves the California Cattlemen’s Association as a second vice president.
Having owned and operated commercial and purebred herds in Siskiyou County, Jack said he brings experience that can benefit all aspects of the cattle industry. Along with his wife, Barbara, their seven children and 16 grandchildren, Jack has become known as one of Little Shasta’s most recognized producers. In 1990, he was honored as the California Beef Cattle Improvement Associations’s Seedstock Producer of the year and in 2007, he was named Siskiyou County’s Cattleman of the Year.
An ophthalmologist in Yreka, Jack graduated from the University of Utah and attended medical school at George Washington University.
Jack currently serves as a president of the Siskiyou County Cattlemen’s Association and has worked on committees including the Cattlemen’s Beef Board and committees for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.
“I know the good this association does for ranchers and I plan to involve many producers and work on issues that affect us all in order to maintain California’s rich ranching heritage,” Jack said.
