Director of Communications Malorie Bankhead

Malorie Bankhead, CCA Director of Communications, serves as the first point of contact for all media inquiries at CCA. In addition, she manages and produces the monthly Hot Irons newsletter and the weekly Legislative Bulletin e-newsletter. In collaboration with the California Beef Council and University of California Cooperative Extension, Malorie co-doordinates California's Beef Quality Assurance Program and oversees producer education. She also maintains the CCA website and social networking communication platforms and provides editorial support to the California Cattleman magazine. Malorie also advises the California Young Cattlemen's Committee, an affiliate organization of CCA.

Raised on her family’s cow-calf ranch in Livermore with a deep passion for beef cattle and ranching, Malorie graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Communication and an emphasis in Animal Science. Prior to graduating from Cal Poly, Malorie served as an intern for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C.; Certified Angus Beef, LLC in Wooster, Ohio; and for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association at the Annual Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Tradeshow. Malorie also served as the 2009 California Beef Ambassador and as a member of the 2010 National Beef Ambassador Team, and serves as an active member of the California CattleWomen and the American National CattleWomen.
