President Tim Koopmann
Tim Koopmann is a cow-calf producer in Sunol whose experience on local, state and federal ranching issues make him a terrific asset to CCA.
Tim Koopmann and his wife Melinda, run the Koopmann family ranch along side their children Clayton and Carissa. The family has been on the property, near Sunol, since 1918 and is known throughout the ranching and environmental communities for their efforts in rangeland conservation and generating public awareness about the good that ranchers do for Mother Nature.
Koopmann is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno, with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Education. He worked as a vocational agriculture instructor for six years in McDermitt, Nev., and Arroyo Grande before going to work in the Farm Credit system. After 10 years with Sierra Bay Farm Credit, he began his current career as a Range Resource Manager for the County of San Francisco. He chairs CCA's Water and Environmental Quality Committee and has served on the board of directors for the California Rangeland Trust.
Upon taking office, Koopmann said, “It will be an honor and privilege to serve on the California Cattlemen's Association leadership team. I hope that my work will be a benefit to all ranchers that are a part of the California beef production industry. I believe that CCA provides the much needed voice for all cattlemen on the legislative floor, in the regulatory office and at the consumer dinner table and I hope that I will be able contribute to these efforts.”
